The WYS Instructor's Challenge will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019. The perpetual Instructor's Challenge Plaque will be inscribed with the winner's name and displayed in the WYS Trophy Case. The NOR (Notice of Race) and SI (Sailing Instructions) will be posted below shortly.
The Instructor's Challenge is designed as a recreational race for WYS employees, families, and invited guests. WYS Instructors (or employees or special invited guests) will skipper Flying Scot sailboats. Crew positions are available on a limited basis to WYS members who bid for the opportunity to race with one of the instructors. The highest bidder can select the Instructor they want to race with, and the remaining crew positions will be assigned by the Principal Race Officer based on bid value, highest amounts awarded first. A bid of $100 will guarantee a crew position.
Funds raised from bids for crew positions will benefit WYS Youth and Adult sailors that want to expand their horizons and compete in regional and national sailing events. This will promote sailing experience at a different level for our sailors, and help to keep WYS on the map.
